According to the latest sales figures from marketing outlet Media Create, Sony sold a total of 11,303 PlayStation 3 units for the week ending April 6 in Japan. Taking that number into account, plus this week’s estimated sales, puts the life-to-date sales of the console at 2 million units.

During the same time period, PSP sales remaining strong at an impressive 120,964 units sold, most likely due in part to the success of Capcom’s recently released Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G. The Nintendo DS, on the other hand, retained its position of second place with 55,190 units sold.

For the rest of this week’s rather unsurprising numbers, hit the jump.

* PlayStation Portable 120,964
* Nintendo DS Lite 55,190
* Nintendo Wii 44,618
* PlayStation 3 11,303
* PS2 10,423
* Xbox 360 1,452
