Valve: Left 4 Dead Could Come To PS3

Currently slated for a release on both the Xbox 360 and PC, Valve’s upcoming zombie-infested shooter Left 4 Dead may come to the PlayStation 3 at a later date if sales take off, according to the company’s marketing VP Doug Lombardi.

If you mention a new Half-Life, people want to make as many versions of it as possible. If Left 4 Dead is big, then we may see a PS3 version later, or if and when we do a sequel, people may be more interested in that.

As with the release of The Orange Box on consoles, if the game is indeed picked up for a PS3 port down the road, development duties would likely be outsourced to another developer.

“We’re not PS3 developers – we’re doing PC and 360 like with Orange Box,” noted Lombardi.
