Following its acquisition of the Clancy IP, Ubisoft today announced Tom Clancy’s HAWX — short for High-Altitude Warfare X.
In development by Ubisoft’s own Bucharest Studio, the aerial combat game is set in the futuristic era of 2012 with the world on brink of major war. Players can pilot over 50 planes, such as stealth bombers and fighters, in an effort to fend off enemy craft.
Ubisoft’s answer to Warhawk is said to support four player jump-in and jump-out co-op play in the campaign mode. Additionally, up to 16 players can take to the sky and battle it out in an online versus mode, where you’ll be able to snag valuable experience points and in-game currency.
Tom Clancy’s HAWX is slated to hit the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC later this fall. IGN has the exclusive on the game’s debut trailer.
