Futuristic aerial combat sequel Tom Clancy’s HAWX 2 is receiving a playable demo ahead of its September debut, publisher Ubisoft revealed today. The pre-release demo is scheduled to hit Xbox Live on August 16, with its PSN counterpart following on August 17.

The demo covers a pair of single-player missions, the first of which takes players on a interception course, recovering stolen aircraft located high above the conflict-ravaged Caucasus Mountains. In the second, players take off on a red-eye flight, assuming the role of an elite U.S. HAWX squad member tasked with taking out specific insurgents in Africa.

The full retail release of HAWX 2 is due out on September 7 for PS3 and Xbox 360. While plans for a Wii and PC are also in the pipeline, Ubi has yet to lock down a solid date.
