Splatterhouse Reboot Features 16-Bit Originals As Unlockables
by April 9, 2010 @ 11:04 am

Now this is fan service. According to the May issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine, the gory, decapitation-filled Splatterhouse reboot will pay more than homage to its roots. Namco Bandai has tucked away the original 16-bit trilogy as unlockables.
The original arcade version of Splatterhouse is there in all its uncensored glory, as are Splatterhouse 2 and Splatterhouse 3. The latter two entries were originally released on Sega Genesis.
There’s no word yet on how these classics are unlocked. The Splatterhouse reboot has endured a shaky development cycle, following Namco’s decision to break ties with now-defunct indie dev BottleRocket. It’s back on track for this year, slated to hit both PS3 and Xbox 360. A firm date has yet to be announced.
