In a statement passed on to Gamasutra, Namco Bandai has confirmed that work on its Splatterhouse reboot has been transferred from California-based third party developer BottleRocket to an in-house development team.

Yes, we have decided to part ways with BottleRocket Entertainment, but we are committed to bringing Splatterhouse to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 later this year.

According to a rep at the studio, Namco abruptly showed up at their doors with a U-Haul truck last Friday, asking for the return of all assets, including dev kits and related items.

It is not yet known what sort of impact the loss of Splatthouse will have on the studio. As it was their only project in development, the future of BottleRocket remains shrouded in uncertainty.
