Shinji Mikami’s Site Launches With Bizarre Harakiri Game

Last month Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami launched a teaser page stricken with a countdown clock for his brand-new start-up studio, Tango. That site has now gone live, complete with a bizarre harakiri flash game that awaits unsuspecting visitors. What it signifies is anyone’s guess. Regardless, the mechanics are rather self-explanatory: hit your left mouse button whenever the “MAX” gauge reaches close to full tilt for flawless victory, chopping off your opponents head in the process. Like we said, bizarre.

A separate recruitment page on the site is decidedly more business-oriented, listing several job positions that call for “2D designers, 3D designers, programmers, producers and managers” according to a translated account from Andriasang.

Additionally, the site notes that Mikami’s project is set to be “completed” inĀ 98 days, which presumably is an indicator of the time table in which Mikami hopes to assemble his development team. That means details on his next title could emerge as soon as July.
