PS3 Firmware 1.82 Coming Soon

Posted by x3sphere at June 26, 2007, 4:50 pm

Sony has revealed on its official blog that firmware 1.82 for the PS3 is to be released soon. Due out within next few days, the update will fully enable playback of AVC High Profile (H.264/MPEG-4) files. Yes, another minor update, but at least its adding something worthwhile.

On a side note I think it’s great that Sony is now starting to talk about the firmware updates. Look forward to hearing about the next PSP update as well.

Thanks to Jordan for the tip!

Now the question is, should I update or not?
