Pre-Paid PSN Tickets Coming Soon To Japan

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan announced today that four types of pre-paid PlayStation Network tickets will hit Japan early June. The tickets are to be available at approximately 52,000 outlets in Japan and will be sold in units of 1,000 yen ($8.31), 3,000 yen ($24.90), 5,000 yen ($41.50), and 10,000 yen ($83.10). Each ticket is branded with a 12-digit code that is entered into the PlayStation Network.

No word on whether a similar system is set to launch in the US. During E3 2006, Kaz mentioned that a PlayStation Card would be released shortly after the PS3 US launch. However, I’ve never seen these cards (go do a search on EBGames or Gamestop - they aren’t there).
