Posted by x3sphere at August 30, 2007, 5:39 pm

Surprise! The online enabled version of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection is now up for grabs on the PlayStation Store. We’ve been following the game ever since its release in Japan but did not expect it to hit the states so soon.

In addition to the new online mode, the update adds two new single player modes: Survival and Practice. As for pricing, gamers who already own the offline version of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection can grab this online update for $10. Otherwise, you’ll have to pay the full $30.

Aside from Tekken, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD is also available on the Store.

The rest of the Store update includes demos as well as more trailers, as listed below. Great update this week!

– Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2008 demo
- All-Pro Football 2K8 demo
- NASCAR ’08 demo
- Heavenly Sword “Episode Four: The Sound of Combat” making-of video
- Heavenly Sword “Episode Four: The Divine Birth” Anime video
- Folklore “Surviving the Netherworld” trailer
- Clive Barker’s Jericho™ trailer

Is it true that with this version you can only play with people that have the same version, what I mean can I play with a friend in Japan that obviously has the Japanese version, any information will be appreciated.

x3sphere says:

According to SDTekken.com, this version does support cross region play.

Chafiro says:

Thanks for the information, I guess that it`ll be able after all to play with my friend in Japan.

Chafiro says:

I try to play yesterday with my friend in Japan and it`s not possible when you send or received a message you can read it without problems but when you try to connect it marks a network error, so you do need the Asian version to play with someone in Japan or he needs the American version to play with me, now the question is how the hell the player that has the #1 ranking in Asia can be the same player that has the #1 ranking in America, cause it`s true that you can have both versions on your PS3 but with a different user name and he has the same in both leagues.
