Ninja Theory Not Working On Heavenly Sword Sequel

Despite rumors and rumblings to the contrary, UK-based developer Ninja Theory maintains that it is not developing a sequel to its successful PlayStation 3 title Heavenly Sword. Interesting! In that case, what exactly are they working on? According to the studio’s co-founder and chief developer Nina Kristensen, a new triple-AAA IP is in the works:

We’re certainly targeting a triple-A blockbuster, with two and a half years in production – a big game that builds on our core strengths of story-telling, cinematics and combat. But we’re actually looking at something in addition to that – we’re considering opportunities in creating a CGI movie using the game engine alongside the game itself.

Oh, and the blockbuster in question is scheduled to be released on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Keep in mind that Heavenly Sword is a Sony owned property, so it’s entirely possible that a sequel may be released in the future — just not by Ninja Theory.
