Matsuura: PS3 Is Too Big

Masaya Matsuura, widely known for creating Parappa the Rapper game series, has said in a recent interview that he believes the overall slump in PlayStation 3 sales in Japan is due to the actual size of the unit. It’s just too big. Matsuura also takes a hit on poor Xbox 360 hardware sales in Japan, stating that the size of the hardware is not an issue, but rather the size of the AC Adapter unit.
I agree with Matsuura, the PS3 is big. Though, putting slumping sales down to just size is over-simplifying the matter. In my view it’s more of a combination between the selection of games and price. Same with the 360, it just doesn’t have as many games catered to the Japanese market when compared to the Wii or DS.

haha,i remember the original Xbox's poor sales in Japan being blamed on the size of the console.although i do suppose it does have merit in Japan considering that property over there is insanely expensive compared to the US and Europe and as such they wouldnt have as much space for their stuff... :
