LittleBigPlanet Hit With Worldwide Delay

Previously slated for a release next week in North America, Sony’s imaginative platformer LittleBigPlanet has been delayed in all regions, according to a statement SCEE sent out this morning. Why the last-minute delay? References to the Islamic Qu’ran in the game’s soundtrack slipped past the certification process, promptly leading Sony to issue a recall:
During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet, it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur’an. We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologise for any offence that this may have caused.
There’s no word on an updated release date yet, but we can’t imagine it will be pushed back too far. The first or second week of November is a reasonable guess.
