LittleBigPlanet Copies Fetching Up To $250 On eBay

We knew it was bound to happen. Unscrupulous types are already taking advantage of global recall imposed on PlayStation 3 title LittleBigPlanet for unintentional references to the holy text of the Qu’ran. With less than a week to go before the game’s revised release date of October 27, auctioneers are selling copies on eBay for up to $250, which is more than triple the game’s mark-up price. And that’s not factoring in shipping!

Personally, I’d wait. There’s no shortage of AAA caliber titles this month, so why lump down all this cash for a game that’s only a week away? Even for collector types, there is not much value here, as Media Molecule have already said that a patch removing the Qu’ran references on affected copies of the game should be ready by day one.

WOW Sony why is there a Recall on this because of the Holy Quran, but the Catholics and Christians couldn't get their First Resistance game Recalled lol

I guess more people are more "sensitive" to Islam then to Christianity, is my guess.

Oh Well, i still know wether of not this Sound get on this game will actually Sell for the PS3 (but not a big seller as you know not many people can afford the highly pricey PS3)

Only in my dreams...I can't afford my PSP
And yes, if they think it's sacred, it's their faith. I would hope they would do the same for other faiths. I don't have a problem with it.
Just my 2 cents worth...

Chilly Willy says:

The reason is that folks like Catholics have mostly stopped killing people over matters of faith. Islamic fundamentalists are still in the whole chopping-off-heads phase most religions go through before settling down. Sony doesn't want them going all "Salman Rushdie" on them.

i like how iceman bashes ps3s in every single one of his posts

icedman204 says:

I know and the irony is I prefer my PS3 over the my 360 and Wii lol

It's just right now Sony instead of being innovative is being cocky, while devs are selling this PS Exlusives to the 360.

Look at Tekken 6, now going to the 360 as well, just like FF13. Years before that it was GTA, etc etc.

And people at their moment like the fact M$ dropped their consoles Price, and Nintendo is still doing well with the Wii. While SONY is still riding the $400 price tag (i guess because it's Blu Ray, but it still gives the competition the upper hand when it comes to sales and profits).
