With a boatload of hits behind their belt, Kojima Productions is one of the most highly revered development studios in the industry. Right now, all work is being channeled towards Metal Gear Solid: Rising and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. But studio head and MGS creator Hideo Kojima says more is on the way in a recent interview with IGN. And what’s interesting is that this “more” doesn’t involve our favorite stealth action title:

First of all I can name Metal Gear Solid Rising – that’s going to be on the preparation list. Also there’s a new title that we haven’t announced that I’ve wanted to make for a long time – that’s on the list as well. And also a couple of other new titles we’re preparing now.

Further to this, Kojima elaborated on the title he’s been longing to create, specifying that it is in fact a “new franchise.” Knowing Kojima, this franchise is still far from being shown to the public eye, but just knowing it exists gives us that subtle feeling of excitement.
