Kitase Still Interested In A Final Fantasy VII Remake

Recent comments made by producer Yoshinori Kitase suggested that Square Enix was not interested in remaking its classic titles in full HD due to the sheer difficulty and resources required to pull off such a feat. However, Kitase changed his tune quick regarding this matter when the topic of a possible Final Fantasy VII remake came up in a recent interview with GT:

I’m really interested to see this more complete form of Final Fantasy VII portrayed more realistically with the voice and animation and all the subtle expressions there.

I’d be interested to see that and to make that, it would be a great experience. I don’t get tired of people asking that question, so I’ll continue to answer my thoughts as long as people keep asking.

Of course, simply having an interest and making a concerted push to do it are two very different things. Still, this bodes quite well for those clamoring for a remake. Really, it sounds as if Square Enix is just waiting for the right time. The complete interview in video form can be found below.
