A stealth update to the official Killzone 3 website has revealed Guerrilla’s plans to offer three flavors of the upcoming shooter: a standard, limited, and collector’s edition.

Unfortunately, the respective descriptions for each product contain only placeholder text at the moment. As such, there’s no word on what perks you’ll receive for shelling out the extra dough. We’d expect the usual trimmings, though, like exclusive in-game DLC, a fancy box, and a collectible or two.

These types of offerings are becoming a de-facto standard nowadays with the launch of any triple-A caliber title. In fact, it’s hard to recall a big-budget effort in recent memory that hasn’t launched alongside a collector’s edition or equivalent. Still, we’re certain that Killzone faithful will appreciate the initiative. We’ll update when Sony or Guerrilla find time to announce the contents, which will likely be soon, now that the cat’s out of the bag.
