Kaz Hirai Confirms 40GB PS3 Uses 65nm

Sheesh, first a German news site says the new 40GB PS3 sports both a 65nm version of CELL and RSX. Then, a Sony spokesperson denies the report, stating that the 40GB model still uses 90nm process.

Both reports are only half true. Speaking in a recent interview, Sony boss Kaz Hirai confirmed that the 40GB PS3 model features a 65nm version of CELL, the PS3’s CPU, but still contains a 90nm version of the console’s graphics chip, known as the RSX.

Really nice to get this finally cleared up.
