Fallout New Vegas Announced

At a media event held in London earlier today, Bethesda announced that Fallout New Vegas is slated to hit consoles and PC next year. An all-new entry in the series, New Vegas is no way related to Fallout 3 but will share a heavy resemblance to it in terms of pure gameplay style, according to marketing vice president Pete Hines. Think of it as a spin-off.
Not an in-house effort, the title is being outsourced to Obsidian of Neverwinter Nights 2 fame and is slated for a 2010 release on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
Bethesda was keen to point out that the development of New Vegas will not have any impact on the internal projects they currently have underway.
