Bethesda Softworks of Elder Scrolls fame today announced that its highly anticipated post-apocalyptic RPG Fallout 3 will hit the PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360 on October 28. A release in Europe will follow three days later.

“We are very excited to let gamers get their hands on Fallout 3, the latest chapter in this beloved and highly acclaimed franchise,” said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. “To meet the huge demand for this title by our fans worldwide, we are planning one of the biggest launches of any game released this year.”

Not much more to say here, other than that we’re psyched. October is going to be one hell of a great month for gamers.
