European PS3 not so backwards compatible

German website Cynamite has gotten its hands on one of the new shiny European PS3 units prior to the official launch date, and has performed some tests on PS2 compatibility. Seeing as Sony removed the Emotion Engine from European units, many speculated that this would reduce the level of backwards-compatibility.
Cynamite tested 12 titles with only ONE game working – Eragon. Among the titles not working were both Metal Gear Solid titles, and God of War.
