Crytek’s highly anticipated CryEngine 3-powered shooter Crysis 2 is no longer a release candidate for this year, as EA has bumped the title into its fiscal 2011 calendar year, according to a just-released investor earnings report.

The sci-fi shooter, which thrusts players into an alien-infested New York on the brink of chaos, was originally slated for a “holiday” release on Xbox 360, PS3, PC. No reason for the setback was given. The debut will mark a franchise-first on consoles, as the original Crysis and its successor Crysis: Warhead were PC-exclusive efforts.
