As part of a restructuring effort to reduce budgetary expenses, The Conduit developer High Voltage Software has let go of 25 employees, according to a company statement released earlier this morning by way of IGN.

A company representative says the decision to trim its staff count was made based on “current production requirements and predictions of what is needed for the remainder of 2010.” The statement concluded that “We are sad to have to say goodbye to these employees and friends, but these changes are necessary to bring our organization to a healthy operational size.”

No further redundancies are planned, according to the rep. Backed by publisher Sega, a sequel to the company’s Wiimote-controlled sci-fi FPS is due out later this year, aptly titled The Conduit 2.
