Publisher Capcom today announced that it has entered into an agreement to license Epic Games’ widely used Unreal Engine 3 game creation toolkit for use in an upcoming, but still unannounced title in development over at Capcom Europe.
“We’re very excited that Capcom has, once again, chosen to use Unreal Engine 3 for one of their upcoming games,” said Mark Rein, vice president, Epic Games. “Capcom is a legendary company in our industry and it is an honor to be able to work with them.”
Platform specifics were not divulged, but considering that the title will be powered by Unreal Engine 3, a release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 is almost a given. When will Capcom spill the first details? That’s anyone’s guess at this point. Though it wouldn’t be unreasonable to expect a full reveal at E3, taking the timing of this announcement into account.
