Capcom Delays Dead Rising 2

Going rambo in Capcom’s gory zombie-slaughtering sequel Dead Rising 2 will have to wait another month, as the company sends word of a revised release date: September 28. That applies to North America only. The European debut is scheduled for October 1, a couple days later.

Previously, the title was slated for August on Xbox 360, PC, and PS3. While Capcom refrained from elaborating on specifics in regards to the setback, a one month delay is nothing to fret about if you ask us.

We’re glad Capcom isn’t settling for a rush job. We saw the title at E3 and performance-wise, the uninviting sub-30 frame rate in certain areas marred the experience, making animation appear choppy and sluggish in motion. Mowing down legions of undead foes by any means necessary is fun, but only at a fluid frame rate. Anything less is an exercise in frustration. That said, here’s hoping another month of development time treats Dead Rising 2 well, resulting in a quality product that manages to impress on all fronts.
