Bungie “Definitely Have Plans” To Branch Out Towards Other Platforms

With Bungie now effectively an independent entity, it still remains very much devoted to creating experiences exclusive to the Xbox 360 platform. And with 2010 set to bring Halo: Reach, a title positioned to become one of this year’s chart-topping 360 efforts, that trend doesn’t look to be shifting gears anytime soon.

Perception can be deceiving, however. Speaking in a recent interview, community manager Brian Jarrard dropped word that the company has plans to branch out and develop for other platforms.

We definitely have plans in the works, and I think we’re really close to understanding of what is next and who, what, when, where, that’s all going to land. But we’re not looking at one particular piece of technology right now. All options are open right now, so long as we find the best possible fit for our creative vision and what this project is going to be.

Those plans are of course far out, but it sure leaves us excited to see what’s next. Although more Halo is appreciated, we’d like to see Bungie take a break from their claim to fame and work on something else for the current-generation.
