Borderlands Now A “Key Franchise” for Take-Two

Take-Two is now heralding Gearbox Software’s open-world RPG Borderlands as a “key franchise,” according to company CEO Ben Feder and chairman Strauss Zelnick. What’s the significant of this statement? Well, it likely means we can expect additional DLC bits down the road and possibly a full-on sequel. Given the game’s nature, it should be obvious that it was ripe for DLC anyway, so this revelation doesn’t exactly come as a surprise.
Meanwhile, there’s still no word on when the Zombie Island DLC will hit PC. We hope that as a key franchise, all platforms start receiving an equal attentiveness to support in the future.
