Activision Counter Sues Ex-Infinity Ward Co-Founders

In a terse response to alleged breach of contract claims from ex-Infinity Ward co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella, publisher Activision has filed a massive 23-page legal suit, seeking monetary compensation for damages in addition to reallocation of any bonuses entitled to the duo.
The suit makes a harsh assertion, claiming that both men intentionally “violated their employment contracts,” morphing “from valued, responsible executives into insubordinate and self-serving schemers who hijack Activision’s assets for their own personal gain.”
To that end, Activision writes that West and Zampella attempted to block additional compensation from being awarded to IW staff involved in the creation of Modern Warfare, all part of an alleged effort to “make these employees easier to poach.”
Activision also affirms that West and Zampella engaged in backhand behavior, attempting to leak company secrets in a covert manner to Activision’s closest competitor. While Activision refrained from name-dropping said competitor, presumably they are referring to EA.
In another noteworthy tidbit, the duo apparently attempted to coerce Infinity Ward employees into leaving the studio by engaging in discussion regarding their plans to break away from Activision, further baiting said employees to jump ship with “incentive compensation.”
Earlier this week Infinity Ward vets Todd Alderman and Francesco Gigliotti left the studio for reasons yet unknown.
