Watch Blu-ray movies on your PlayStation 3? According to the law of averages, you probably do. Based on an internal survey conducted by Sony, 87 percent of PS3 owners watch Blu-ray movies on their PS3. Additionally, 84 percent intend to always purchase or rent Blu-ray movies. That’s a pretty remarkable adoption rate.

Any suprise there? If the PS3 has built in Blu-Ray, you're going to use it. Might as well make the best of it when Sony takes a very large vacuum to your wallet.
On the other hand, if Sony had never used Blu-Ray in the PS3, the system would have been at a more consumer-acceptable price. It's too late to change that now, as (at least some of?) the games are on Blu-Ray discs.
