The wait is nearing a close. Blizzard Entertainment today announced that its forthcoming World of Warcraft expansion Wrath of the Lich King will hit store shelves across North America and Europe on November 13.
“We’re looking forward to launching Wrath of the Lich King and finally giving World of Warcraft players a chance to take on Arthas and his minions,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “Until then, we’ll continue to refine and playtest the expansion content to make sure it provides a highly polished and entertaining experience.”
Requiring the original World of Warcraft as well as The Burning Crusade expansion, Wrath of Lich King will be available in two separate packages, specifically a $69.99 collector’s edition that includes a 208-page art book, an exclusive in-game pet, a behind-the-scenes DVD, the official 21-track soundtrack, as well as a Northrend mouse pad and two World of Warcraft March of the Legion trading card starter decks. The standard edition, on the other hand, includes only the game for $39.99.
