Valve: No Plans To Implement Trade-In System On Steam

Valve has put the kibosh on rumors suggesting that the company had plans to implement a trade-in service on Steam.

Citing anecdotal evidence, outspoken Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter proclaimed earlier this week that such a system was in the pipeline. “Steam’s about to let you do that supposedly, you know like trade and exchange, but they’re going to take a fee from it,” said Pachter.

Valve’s PR head Doug Lombardi has since stepped in to quell speculation, simply telling UK site Eurogamer that the entire notion is pure fabrication. “Untrue. We’ve never had a meeting with Mr Pachter, I’m not sure what else there is to say,” noted Lombardi.

A “no” doesn’t get much more blunt than that.
