Publishing house Tri Synergy today issued a statement in regards to the controversy surrounding Majestic Studios’ Limbo of the Lost. Recently, the title broke headlines for blatantly stealing assets and level designs from Bethesda Softworks’ Oblivion.
In the released statement, Tri Synergy says they are “as shocked as everyone else” by the recent screenshot comparisons between Limbo of the Lost and Oblivion, noting that they had no prior knowledge of the recently reported similarities. Additionally, the publisher has decided to discontinue distribution of the Majestic-developed title in both retail and online outlets, which in all honesty, is a smart move at this point.
Tri Synergy is just as shocked as everyone else is by the recent screenshot comparisons. At no point during our dealings with Majestic Studios up until the point that the comparison was first publicly made by a third party did we have any knowledge of these similarities. Additionally, Tri Synergy will discontinue distribution of Limbo of the Lost in both retail and online outlets.
We have contacted the developer, Majestic, and are anxiously awaiting their response. As soon as we know more on this matter we will issue another statement.
