Ubisoft Makes Amends For DRM Outages

Earlier this month, a denial of service attack on Ubisoft’s authentication servers left Assassin’s Creed 2 and Silent Hunter 5 owners across the globe unable to play their legit, purchased copies on PC. In an effort to make amends for the ordeal, Ubisoft is throwing a bone to those affected, saying sorry through compensation.

Word from posts over at Ubisoft’s official support forum is that apology emails are being sent out, offering one of four titles free of charge. These include Heroes Over Europe, Prince of Persia, H.A.W.X., Tom Clany’s EndWar. Others are reportedly receiving paid content for AC2 free of charge, presumably those who purchased the Standard Edition.

To be sure, it’s a nice gesture to loyal purchasers that had to put up with this mess. Hope things run smooth from here on out.
