Speaking in an earnings conference call with analysts about an hour ago, Take-Two chief executive officer Strauss Zelnick confirmed that the company has been in talks with a number of interested parties over a possible buyout since the worldwide launch of Grand Theft Auto IV.
We [Take-Two] empathized the Board’s commitment to explorer all strategic alternatives, including remaining independent and pursuing business commoditizing with third parties. We said we were willing to begin formal discussions with interested parties on April 30 following the launch of GTA IV and we’re actively engaged in that process now.
In fact, we have had and continue to have formal discussions with a number of interested parties, though it wouldn’t be appropriate to comment further on the status of our efforts at this time.
Interesting. Wonder who else is interested? Activision? Microsoft?
