Neil Young Packs Up, Leaves EA For “New Project”

According to a report from Newsweek correspondent N’Gai Croal, longtime Electronic Arts exec Neil Young has taken leave of the company.

Young served EA for 11 years, overseeing such projects as Majestic, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and most recently, Boom Blox. Prior to leaving, he headed EA’s smaller, casual-focused Blueprint label. 23-year old industry vet and Westwood Studios founder Louis Castle will take over Young’s responsibilities at Blueprint.

EA Games president Frank Gibeau wrote in an email that Young left to “manage his own company,” and wished him well on his “new project.” No word on what this project is all about, or what the company Nell left for is called – but we’ll find out sooner or later.
