Publisher THQ and Valve announced today that the PC version of 4A Games’ DX11-powered effort Metro 2033 will take advantage of Steamworks. Naturally, this means the title will support the host of features that Valve’s Steamworks suite offers, including seamless auto-updating, built-in Steam Achievements, in-game DLC, and more.

Metro 2033 joins a growing list of PC titles whose publishers have stood behind Steam as their digital platform of choice, the likes of which include Modern Warfare 2 and Aliens vs. Predator. Offering a blend of horror, survival and RPG elements within a first-person framework, Metro 2033 is based on the novel of the same name penned by Russian writer Dmitry Glukhovsky.

Currently available for pre-order on Steam, those who reserve Metro 2033 ahead of its March 16 release will receive a free copy of THQ’s destruction-centric shooter Red Faction: Guerrilla.
