Final Fantasy VII Remake Rumors Crushed

With all the recent FF remakes and side-stories on the way, many have conjured up the idea that Square-Enix is planning to remake a fan-favorite in the series, which is none other than Final Fantasy VII. It’s been two years since E3 2005’s spectacular Final Fantasy VII tech demo.. so you think that Square might have something up its sleeve?
They don’t. According to Square-Enix man Tetsuya Nomura, the company has no plans whatsoever to remake the fabled Final Fantasy VII. To quote:
It appears that there are often overseas rumors like ‘Are you currently developing a VII remake?’ My apologies, but we’re absolutely not making [such a game].
Still, it doesn’t mean that all hope is lost. Nomura then states, "As long as there are people who want to make it and people who are waiting for it, we don’t want to proclaim ‘the end.’" In essence, I suppose if we keep demanding a Final Fantasy VII remake, we’ll get it, eventually.
