According to a Variety report, Electronic Arts has canned its original IP-driven Blueprint division in light of financial woes and job cuts. The Blueprint initiative, started by ex-EA employee Neil Young in 2007, was a internal project aimed at working with smaller developers to create original intellectual properties at a lower cost.
The tentatively titled and yet-to-be-announced Boom Blox 2 was said to be a Blueprint effort, but following the closure of the division, EA has reportedly handed development duties over to its casual label.
