It’s been a long time since EA gave a status update on the PC version of its multiplayer-centric shooter Battlefield 1943, long enough to invoke the belief that it may be in development limbo. Now reports have emerged indicating that EA is handing out refunds to those that placed a pre-order.

According to an Examiner piece, those fed up with the wait are receiving refunds with no questions asked. This comes amidst no indication of a possible release date, which EA’s own site classifies under TBD. Is Battlfield 1943’s MIA status a result of more pressing  matters at hand or something else? Suppose we’ll find out eventually. EA can’t stay silent forever.
