Ahh, The Simpsons. One of the greatest and longest running animated TV shows of all-time. Though who can say the same for the actual games? Sure, the arcade games were fantastic, but console-wise, most games in the Simpsons series have fallen short of expectations.

EA is looking to break this trend, with the release of The Simpsons for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo DS. The game itself will take players through 16 comically filled levels displayed in a cel-shaded look akin to the 2D hand drawn animations seen in the TV show.

The arcade beat ‘em up Simpsons (pictured above) would be a great unlockable in this game. Although, since it was made by Konami, I guess the chances of that happening are next to impossible. We can dream though.
