Natsume Localizing Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals

Natsume is bringing Neverland’s re-imaging of SNES RPG gem Lufia II to the states under the guise of Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals. Published by Square Enix in Japan last February, the DS effort has been touted as a reboot of the franchise, boasting fully-redone 3D polygonal visuals and ditches the turn-based battle system of old in favor of real-time battle sequences a la Kingdom Hearts. At the same time, however, it bares very littleĀ resemblanceĀ to the original, apart from the core plot and supporting cast.

Nabbing localization rights to the title marks a return to Natsume’s stomping grounds, as it published the 1996 original on SNES.

No word on if the localization of Estpolis II will feature any significant changes. Natsume tells us to stay tuned as “more information” is on the way.
