Capcom had a sizable nugget of news in store for Nintendo’s fall press conference, one that will delight blue bomber faithful, announcing that the oft-requested Mega Man Legends 3 is in development for the 3DS.

“We have wanted to create a new installment in this series for a number of years,” said executive producer Keiji Inafune. He added, “And it is great that we now have the opportunity to bring this title to the Nintendo 3DS.”

Capcom topped the revelation off with confirmation that Resident Evil: The Mercenaries is also 3DS bound. While details are scarce, the title highlights Mercenaries missions from Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 realized in 3D. Promised are “brand new modes” and the appearance of several fan-favorite characters.
