Ignition announced today that it has teamed up with Japanese publisher Marvelous Entertainment to localize Killaware’s text-based adventure title Lux-Pain.

Set in the wary town of Kisaragi City, players assume the role of protagonist Atsuki, a boy whose parents were forced to commit crimes against their own will as a result of being infected by an viperous worm known as Silent. Fought with anger and seeking to avenge his parents, Atsuki undergoes a dangerous surgical procedure to fuse a power known as the Lux-Pain to his left arm. Equipped with physic powers, Lux-Pain allows Atsuki to save potential victims from nemesis Silent.

“Here at Ignition, we are a focused team of passionate gamers who are always on the look-out for unique, quality games,” said Ajay Chadha, President of Ignition Entertainment. “We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Marvelous again to bring the profound adventure of Lux-Pain to gamers everywhere!”

The game features tracks scored by Japanese composer Kenji Ito of SaGa and Mana series fame, as well as Yasuyuki Suzuki, best known for his musical work in Tail of the Sun and Space Invaders Extreme.

Lux-Pain is slated for a March 2009 release on Nintendo DS.
