TA-082 PSP users rejoice! A REAL downgrader developed by Dark_AleX, Mathieulh and harleyg has now been released. This release patches the idstorage so that TA-082 PSP’s can downgrade to 1.5 or 3.02 OE for example.

Dark_AleX has now released 3.02 OE-B, this release now supports the loading of ANY PS1 game as promised instead of just the ones from the Playstation Store. TA-082 users as always with any custom firmware cannot run this at the moment.

Thanks to the team C&D, 3.03 has now been decrypted. What does this mean for most of you? Not much right now of course, but it means a 3.03 devhook or custom firmware is now possible.

Here on Xmas eve Dark_AleX has come to show us his recent work on the upcoming revision of his 3.02 custom firmware. OE-B will include support for all PS1 games legally backed up from your PS1 discs, not just the ones available on the PS store You can see OE-B in action by watching the video below (yes it is playing SOTN at full speed)

Yesterday there were some reports concerning a TA-082 downgrader, and we had some suspicions about it so did not post the news. Turns out after confirming with a few PSP developers the downgrader is indeed fake - do NOT run or download it.

Dark_AleX made some points as to why it is fake:

- eLoader cannot run PRX files
- The file 271SE.thug is just a 2.71 Sony updater
- The text file that it generates with supposed keys, doesn’t seem to be used at all by anything
- When choosing to downgrade to 2.71 SEC… it just writes that file to the output directory

Take our advice and do not bother running this.. it will not work period.

PSP developer Exophase has released gpSP 0.9, the update includes numerous bug fixes, performance increases (mainly with 3D games), vsync support, auto frameskip, and fixed savestate speed for those with Sony memory sticks.
