In an attempt to appease Japan’s lust for PSP hardware, Sony today announced plans to introduce a new suite of PSP colors for the Eastern market. Collectively dubbed “Carnival Colors,” the lineup includes four colors, namely “Vibrant Blue, “Radiant Red,” “Bright Yellow” and “Spirited Green.” Two of the aforementioned colors were announced for a release in Korea earlier this month.
Each unit will carry a MSRP of 19,800 yen ($222). Additionally, the entire range of colors will also be available in value pack variations, which include a 4GB Memory Stick, along with a soft pouch, wrist strap and cloth. These packs will cost 24,800 yen ($278) each.
Look for Radiant Red and Vibrant Blue to hit the region on March 5, while availability of the Bright Yellow and Spirited Green colors will follow on March 19. Sony has no plans for a overseas release of the new color suite. For all those interested in importing, keep an eye out on Play-Asia.
