Yet another development house bites the dust. In an effort to cut costs and better manage cash flow, publisher Eidos has officially closed its UK-based Manchester studio. A total of 14 jobs are being cut as a result of the closure, says an Eidos spokesperson:
As a company we need to focus our efforts on high-quality titles that will deliver long-term franchise value, and in these incredibly challenging and competitive times we need to pro-actively manage our cost base.
Known as Rockpool Games, the studio primarily focused on the creation of casual, easy to pick-up titles in the mobile games sector, with its most notable projects being adaptations of classics like Worms and MotoGP. As always, best of luck to those affected.
