At this year’s annual SpikeTV Video Game Awards show, famed game designer Hideo Kojima was quizzed on that mysterious teaser plastered over on the official Metal Gear site. His response? While reluctant to drop any noteworthy details, he did let one tidbit of information slip, namely that a public announcement by Konami would be made within a few weeks, in regards to the Metal Gear series of course.

It’s interesting to consider the timing of this all — seeing as in less than a few weeks we’ll be celebrating the new year. Has Konami been waiting for a exclusivity agreement it made with Sony to expire before making this announcement? Perhaps — but with no concrete evidence to base such a theory on, that’s simply conjecture. At any rate, we’ll find out what the big secret is soon enough. Stay tuned!
