Sony Computer Entertainment Japan today released the list of “PlayStation Awards” winners for 2008, titles that shipped at least 500,000 copies. Publishers of recognized titles are endowed ¥1,000,000 yen ($10,770), or ¥2,000,000 yen ($21,550) if over two million copies of said title were shipped.
Rather unsurprisingly, Capcom – and only Capcom – took home the grand prize this year, for none other than its immensely popular PSP title Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G. Runner-ups were Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Super Robot Taisen Z, Winning Eleven 2008, and Phantasy Star Portable.
