Speaking in a recent interview, Ubisoft Montreal producer Ben Mattes confirmed that downloadable content is in the works for Prince of Persia. Despite being shy on details, he told Gamersyde that DLC for the title will likely not consist of the usual offerings, such as new clothes or weapons. Instead, Ubisoft plans to significantly extend the gameplay experience, possibly with new story elements that give birth to a sequel or even prequel.

If we’re going to do [DLC], it’s going to be a new story, a new experience, maybe a prequel, maybe a sequel – we’re going to do something that really offers a lot of value for the player.

As for “when” we can expect this DLC, assuming it does come to fruition, sometime next year is a safe bet according to Mattes.
