PS3 Helps Folding@home Project

Sony announced today that Stanford University’s Folding@home project has been a great success on the PS3. The project is aimed at understanding protein folding, misfolding and related diseases. Since its launch, more than 250,000 unique PS3 users have joined the program, and PS3 users are reportedly delivering nearly 400 teraflops, achieving a total computing power of over 700 teraflops at a single moment, double the computing capacity of the network before PS3 joined the program.
